Build 126 (Ninth Patch)

Summary

Build 125 (Eighth Patch)
Released: February 16, 2025
Summary
New NPC found in NG+. New donation system from the new NPC. Armor/Res changes and reworks based on those new numbers. Enemies balance pass and new "Bannermen" in Dark Citadel. Weapon scaling overhaul. Many class balance pass/changes.
Changes

- Donating resources to the Chapel now gives town-wide permanent buffs like the class titles, these can be seen in the Titles menu and donation is done both by dying in a mission and through donating resources directly at the Tier 5 Chapel
- Added Spell Mastery mechanic unlocked by finding a new NPC in Dungeons in New Game+ 1
- Each point of Strength now gives Armor Penetration
- Dexterity and Intelligence crit damage scaling changed from linear to decaying growth, below 400 DEX/INT this is a buff, but beyond that they start to fall off
- Holding down a button in the attribute assigner and material trader UIs now repeat the press to minimize annoying repeat clicking
- Material trader UI now lets you change how much to trade at a time
- Mission loadout NG+ picking now rolls around, so doing NGP- at 0 picks the highest
- Chests no longer only give primary stat equipment and instead bases it on what you've picked for attributes
- Summons now respawn faster on level switch
- Disabled multiplayer dropin in avatar boss fight and citadel shortcut
- Lowered enchant cost scaling so its a bit cheaper at high levels
- Increased dust/crystal NG+ scaling from +10% to +20%
- Trinkets, debuffs (like bleed), etc now scale with spell power
- Added spell tags to Wolf Companion, Summon Fiends, Gargoyle Servant, Conjure Hydras, Animated Sword, Demon's Tail, and Soul Vortex
Armor
Armor and resistance has been reworked a bit in order to increase the difference between having high and low armor/res, in general this is a buff to armor/res bonuses and a buff to the armor/res penetration mechanics.
- Negative armor and resistance is no longer half as "powerful" as positive armor (it used to be that negative 100 armor only gave half the debuff as positive 100 armor gave as a buff)
- Armor and resistance penalties from New Game+ now lowered to -120 and -65 to match negative armor efficiency change
- Armor and resistance penetration remade to be percentage based instead of just a constant offset, penetration can no longer push armor below 0
- Adjusted enemy and boss armor/resistance values and scaling to match changes in armor and resistance
- Lowered curse armor/resistance penalty from 4 + 1*NG+ to 3 + 0.66*NG+
Enemies
- Introducing new Bannermen enemies to Dark Citadel in New Game+
- Ranger enemies in Dark Citadel now scale up their attacks in New Game+
- Made Avatar phase 3 deal slightly less damage and phase 1 slightly more
- Lowered damage for crossbowmen in Barracks
- Increased damage for archers in Courts
- Slightly increased how fast lightning wizards in Courts build up their damage
Weapons
- All weapons above tier 1 now also do damage based on character attributes, so for example swords now do a bit more damage depending on your Strength
- Weapon masteries increased to 5% bonus damage per point instead of 3%
- Dexterity bows secondary attack changed from Power Shot to Arrow Volley
- Strength bow Power Shot now shoots 3 arrows instead of 1 and goes a little bit longer
- Added 10% armor penetration to crossbow bolts
- Increased Crossbow - Explosive Shot explosion size a little
Wizard
- Barrier - Frost Shell armor bonus lowered from 25%/50%/100% to 20%/40%/60%
- Lowered Incanters Flow mana cost reduction and cast speed increase from 2%/3%/4%/5%/6% to 2%/2.5%/3%/3.5%/4%
- Enhanced Physique no longer gives Intelligence
Ranger
- Fixed bug where Entangle - Healing Wisps and Entangle - Poison Ivy weren't mutually exclusive
- Lowered Wind Weaver cooldown from .25s to .15s
- Increased Wolf Companion attack speed
- Sped up Rain of Arrows a little
- Lowered Archery - Fast Shot skill speed bonus from 10%/20%/40% to 10%/20%/30%
Paladin
- Lawbringer - Punish the Wicked no longer does a damage increase against silenced/disarmed enemies and instead drop Judgement hammers on them
- Changed paladins Inner Flames - Flames of Devotion to add damage per character level instead of flat damage
- Lowered paladins Inner Flames max amount of stacks from 7 to 5
Sorcerer
- Ice Mastery - Ice Block now shoots 3 shards of Ice Nova when blocking an attack
Fixes
- Fixed Girdle of Might attunement being broken
- Fix for Barracks trap room that can break level layout
- Fixed enchanting menu for "broken" enchanted items (of Insightfulness)
- Fixed being able to buy the same enchant multiple times wasting resources
- Fix for warriors Killing Spree - Dauntless being broken
- Fixed prospectors pride drink
- Fixed issue where the Mysterious Citadel achievement would not be awarded if you already found the architect forcing you to start a new save to get it
Build 124 (Seventh Patch)
Released: February 4, 2025
Summary
More rewards for NG+, adjusted and add more accomplishment tiers for some stats, blueprint spawn rates more consistent, various fixes and UI updates.
Changes
- Trinket material rewards (Crystal and Dust) after a mission now go up by 10% per New Game+
- Added some more high tiers of certain accomplishments: Damagers, Heavy Hitters, Critical Hitters, Potion Gulpers, Spellcasters, Blockers, Combo Streakers, Hunter, Murderer, Exorcist, Demolisher, Sanctifier
- Adjusted high tiers of accomplishments so Murderer and Demolisher are a bit quicker to get and Exorcist a bit slower to get, to make them more even
- Shadow Rifts minimap icon now shows when it's been used
- Character screen now defaults to equipment inventory when opened in town
- Icon/keyword legend in bottom left of UI now shows keyword descriptions for equipment
- Blueprints in levels are now a bit more consistent in how often they show up
- Added info about current ilvl to blacksmith equipment upgrading
- More string and UI adjustments for game translatability in different languages, "unicode" font now works better for non-chinese languages, "chinese" font-set added for previous behavior if preferred
Fixes
- Fixed issue with resuming runs spawning the player out of bounds from the level
- Fixed broken healing on Entangle and Dark Ritual for clients in multiplayer
- Fix for Apothecary removing potion charge upgrades when talking to her in intro mission with a higher level character in multiplayer
- Fixed lesser shades showing hp bars while in spawn animation
- Fixed issue with getting Builders accomplishment incorrectly as client in multiplayer
- Fixed Conviction - Shield of Faith level up bonus of block amount being reversed
We've been working on a number of balance changes with a focus on improving the scaling of certain mechanics, especially weapon attacks and strength builds. It's not quite ready yet, but it will be the focus of the next patch.
Build 123 (Sixth Patch)
Released: January 29, 2025
Summary
Magic Mirror in guild hall for character editing. New map icons for valuables, materials and equipment and map adjustments. Multiplayer fixes and other fixes.
Changes
- Added character customization to the Guild Hall
- Minimap now shows when some more dungeon features (Traveling Cook, Shady Trader, Trinket Shop, Imp, etc) have been used
- Changed minimap icons of valuables, materials and equipment
- Serverlist now displays some information about level of characters in a lobby
- Added game option Multiplayer Game Marker to be able to turn off and change the color of the markers below other players
- Added 2 hair colors and some more feminine jaw shapes
Fixes
- Fixed AoE player skills being inconsistent in dealing damage as a client in multiplayer (Entangle, Firewall, Glyphs, etc)
- Fixed Masonry Chisel trinket and Apothecary's Supplies trinket set descriptions
- Fixed Wicked Hooks trinket breaking when attuned
- Lowered Rogue's Grenade mana cost to match description
- Fixed Whirlwind & Flamespray dealing inconsistent damage
- Fixed issue where a player wouldn't get a NG+ increase if the mission played was higher than his max
- Fixed shadow curse removal stat not counting curse removed by Imp
- Fixed Magic Shop mission loadout displaying as empty even though it had something selected
- Removed indestructible firewood stack from high level town square prefabs
- Added player classes to Coop HUD
- Fixed level announce text not properly being centered on some boss levels
- Fixed issue where free skillpoints didnt show in playermenu when there were no free attribute points
- Combo: None now shows as picked at Library
- Fixed some more strings not being changeable by translations
- Class promotion UI can now be closed by X in corner
At the magic mirror in the Guild Hall you can now change the name and look of your character for a small fee.

Build 121 (Fifth Patch)
Released: January 25, 2025
Summary
Adding language translation workshop support. Combo can be turned off. Other balance changed and fixes.
Changes
- Added workshop support for game translations
- Boss equipment rewards can now include 2-handed and off-hand weapons
- Added ability to turn off combo at library
- Equipment ilvl you find in runs is now capped to the highest value of 5 levels above your level cap and 10 levels above your current level
- Adjusted Imp gold and material rewards to give more early in the game but scale up slower
- Increased Orb of Restoration trinket +Mana Regen from 5 to 10
- Lowered Drums of Battle cooldown from 8s to 2s, so the effect can now be refreshed, but not stacked
Fixes
- Fixed NPC pathfinding in town
- Changing class specialization now clears assigned skills from previous picked one
- Fixed Warlock limit to Chaos Rifts being broken for clients
- Fixed breaking saves when switching save profile while in a run
- Fixed buffs and summons not clearing when swapping character and class specializations in town

Hotfix Patch 120
Released: January 22, 2025

Build 119 (Fourth Patch)
Released: January 22, 2025
Summary
This patch largely focused on bug fixing but includes a few balance changes.
Changes
- Added mark for trinkets being attuned on their icons in the inventory
- Pyre town building now increases how many curses braziers remove
- Lowered enemy damage scaling from multiplayer player count
- Doubled how quickly Elemental Prism shoots
- Doubled Arctic Step damage and how many ice patches are spawned
- Increased Scroll of Hellfire meteors spawn rate by 66% and cut the fall time by 66%, also slightly increased meteor spread and AoE
Fixes
- Fixed an issue with clicking a lobby in the server list but joining a different one
- Fixed a bug with blueprints that cannot be picked up
- You can no longer evade your own or other players' attacks
- Fixed attacks like Whirlwind (2h Axe) and Flame Spray (Fire Staff) being broken at certain attack speeds
- Fixed Rabbit's Foot trinket not gaining effect when attuned
- Fixed flame floor traps being inconsistent in their timing when turning on and off
- Fixed not seeing the level when multiplayer spectating in Dark Halls
- Fixed visual glitch when dashing into walls in Dark Halls
- Fixed an issue of some buffs showing with no names stat tooltips
- Fixed skill icons missing in player menu
- Fixed Rogues Fan of Knives showing incorrect mana costs in its description
Build 118 (Third Patch)
Released: January 21, 2025
Summary
This patch added save profiles which can link to Steam Cloud as well as some UI updates. There were also a number of balancing changes.
Additions
- Added Save Profiles menu with support for Steam Cloud and having separate saves
- Added game option for managing visibility and colors on different kinds of health bars, letting you visually distinguish between player, enemy, allied players and minion health bars
- Added a graphic to the load screen with a game option to change its brightness
- Added separate icons to Monolith buffs
- Added HUD icon for Warriors Rage buff
Changes
- Improved wording in a few different tooltips and descriptions
- Reduced trap damage scaling
- Changed Rogue class title from gold gain to reduced trap damage
- Buffed Ranger and Wizard class titles to give 3 instead of 2 of attack/spell power
- Life leech now heals over time with a maximum of filling your health to max over 5 seconds
- Improvements to player minions targeting and movement
- Slight adjustment to enchanting costs
- Imp reward when upgrading item levels now upgrades 5 levels with a max of +15 total on the item going beyond the blacksmiths total of +10
- Lightning attack from wizards in Courts now have slightly higher damage but it builds up over time giving you a chance to move away
- Avatar boss in New Game+ 5 and above now does some more damage with the slam in phase 3
- Two-handed maul damage increased from 150% to 175% weapon damage and Ground Slam increased from 200% to 250% weapon damage
- Charged shot with bows now penetrate up to 6 enemies instead of 4
- Bows now shoot 33% faster with a reduced movement speed penalty while attacking
- Dexterity bows no longer shoot slower while moving
- New Game+
- Experience rewards from enemies now go up by 33% every New Game+
- Enemies base armor and resistance now go up by 33% every New Game+
- Minor adjustment made to enemies base armor and resistance to increase slowly and progressively for every New Game+
- Enemies now do 5% more base damage per New Game+
- Lowered armor of the big eye enemies in Dark Halls in New Game+
- Sorcerer
- Lowered Frost Nova damage from 50/70/100/130/170 to 50/70/90/110/130 but increased their travel distance by 40%
- Increased Frost Nova - Frost Seekers trigger chance from 25%/50% to 33%/66%
- Lowered Discharge chaining from 2/4 to 2/3 and increased bounce dmg reduction from -10% to -20%
- Lowered Flame Wall cooldown from 15s to 13s
- Ranger
- Lowered ranger wind weaver cooldown from 0.5s to 0.25s
- Ranger wolf attack AoE increased in size
- Wizard
- Changed Magic Missiles damage from 40/50/70/90/130 to 50/60/70/85/100
- Warlock
- Fixed Drain Essence scaling but lowered it from 2%/3%/5%/7%/10% to 2%/2.5%/3%/3.5%/4%
- Lowered Drain Essence - Life Siphon restoration from 2%/3%/4% to 2%/2.5%/3%
- Lowered Chaos Blade damage from 100/120/160/200/260 to 100/120/140/160/180
- Lowered Chaos Rifts max amount from 4/4/6/6/8 to 4/4/5/5/6
- Lowered Blood Ritual - Leeching Ritual life leech 5%/7.5%/10% to 2%/3%/4%
Fixes
- Fixed Weapon Mastery attunement being inconsistent and sometimes broken
- Fixed Evasion being broken
- Fixed trinket picker not showing attuned trinket descriptions
- Fixed trap room in Dungeon missing a reward
- Fixed Rangers Entangle showing incorrect mana costs in its description
Some builds have been overperforming significantly while others are underperforming, so while we are toning down some subclasses to keep progression challenging we are also improving others in order to try to increase the variety in viable builds.
We are open to hear additional feedback from the community and although we have been quite overwhelmed with the response, we are reading and listening to what you are saying and we are trying to improve the game to make it the best it can be and enjoyable to everyone.
For people who want to move their existing save to Steam Cloud, the process is to go in to the new Save Profiles menu, copy your current profile, select Steam Cloud as the location of your new profile, and finally switch to it.
Build 117 (Second Patch)
Released: January 17, 2025
Summary
This patch focused primarily on bug fixes, particularly in multiplayer, and addressed several exploits.
Additions
- Added player level display to the multiplayer HUD.
- Added a sound option to disable the combo sound loop.
- Added a game option to adjust the opacity of multiplayer names.
- Added missing combo descriptions to the Library menu.
- Added confirmation prompts for exiting the game and abandoning a run.
Changes
- Thunderbird: No longer damages players upon spawning.
- Picking a combo at the Library now correctly awards the corresponding achievement if not already obtained.
Fixes
- Fixed a bug where mission selections in multiplayer could persist in a player's single-player town.
- Fixed exploits related to resuming a run.
- Fixed a bug where resuming a run could spawn the player in the previous level with broken elements.
- Fixed a bug where multiplayer clients could build structures based on the host's unlocks.
- Fixed a bug where multiplayer clients could create characters based on the host's class unlocks.
- Fixed a bug where clients could sometimes take trinkets intended for the host.
- Fixed an issue where players could get stuck behind the gate during the Shadow Face boss fight.
- Fixed several minor issues in the Courts act.
Future Plans
The developers have stated they are currently prioritizing the following based on player feedback:

- Introducing modding support, starting with translations.
- New Game+ Curse System Redesign
- Reworking the curse system to offer a better risk/reward dynamic, rather than being solely tied to enemy attacks.
Build 115 (First Patch)
Released: January 15, 2025
Summary
This patch focused on quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and some balance adjustments.
Additions
- Added a graphical option to disable wind animations on foliage.
- Added a UI scale option.
- Added an option for a larger crosshair.
- Added the Rings of Resistance trinket set.
- Added evasion to Cult Assassins and Skeleton Crawlers in New Game+.
Changes
- Accomplishments:
- Kill Elites: Fixed tracking.
- Combo Accomplishment: Lowered requirements for the highest tier.
- Accomplishment tooltips now correctly display awarded items.
- Tab Overlay: Now displays the New Game+ level.
- Server List: Now displays the NG+ level and region of the game.
- Paladin:
- Lay on Hands: Fixed the skill's size reduction when using Cleansing Touch.
- Tavern:
- Soul Anguish: Lowered mana leech.
- Cooldowns:
- Reduced cooldown on Wizard's Haste and Meteor Shower, Sorcerer's Firewall, Rogue's Poison Cloud, and Paladin's Judgement.
- Increased cooldown on Warrior's Totem.
- Multiplayer: Applied a tentative fix for town progress loss in rare cases when hosting. This will help identify the issue further.
Fixes
- Fixed overlapping text issues on the character selection screen.
- Fixed empty effects appearing in the Effects tab of the Player Menu.
- Fixed icons for the Closed Circuit trinket and Paladin's Inner Flames skill.
